The Fresh Start Training Program

The Fresh Start Training Program is open to anyone in the community who is looking to expand their job readiness skills, which includes those who have recently been released from prison. The mentorship available via this workshop helps build on the skills you already have and grow your confidence.

The four-week workshop focuses on:

  • Designing and writing a resume
  • Networking with employers and marketing yourself
  • Searching for jobs that match your skills
  • Practicing interviewing

You can apply for the training program here: https://forms.gle/zGCsKbzETPn6MKxWA

Re-Entry Program

Re-Entry: The act of rejoining as a participant or member.

The Re-Entry Program is designed for people who have been incarcerated.

People with a criminal record face many obstacles– job discrimination along with a lack of clothes and necessary documents like birth certificates and licenses, to name just a few.

Re-entry Program case managers collaborate with participants to help them meet these immediate needs and focus on achieving longer term goals!

*HECC is one of only eight sites in Chicago with this special program!

We also help participants find the following through other organizations and services:

  • Healthcare
  • Housing
  • Drug treatment
  • Legal services
  • Expungement

And more! Please ask!

The program runs for nine months and provides on-the-job experience with the CTA and is a good way to jump-start a long-term and meaningful career. The program is paid!
